Recovery of ionic liquids in tailor-made fuel process

Abstract:
Extraction and membrane process can be useful for the separation of ionic liquid from impurities. The partition coefficient of model compounds between ionic liquid and organic phase was determined at various conditions. The principal effect of high viscosity on extraction behaviour was estimated with polyethyle glycol in water. Different nanofiltration membranes were screened for the stability towards ionic liquids and for the separation of water from ionic liquids.
