Modeling the lifecycle of chemical plants
CHEManager, 2000, 9(17), 19
Abstract:
Process simulation is an established technology to support the design and operation of chemical plants. Since it has reached a level of high maturity,
it is an obvious question which technology may succeed process simulation in the
future. Lifecycle modeling is the developement and use of mathematical models
on varying degrees of detail throughout the entire lifecycle of a chemical
plant. Novel Computer-based evironments are required for the support and
managing of the models and their use in simulation, design, optimization and
operation.
