M. Nagl, Wolfgang Marquardt:
Tool integration via cooperation functionality
ECCE 3, 3rd European Congress of Chemical Engineering, Nürnberg, Germany, 26-28.6.2001
Abstract:
Tool integration is more than linking existing development systems together. So, the well-known dimensions of tool integration are insufficient. These systems have to be reengineered and wrapped before being integrated. Furthermore, the architecture of the integrated development environment has to be elaborated as a guideline for the software integration process. Especially, new tool functionality to support the cooperation of developers has to be implemented. For that new concepts of computer science are introduced which can be synergetically used. For tool integration, a software development process with reuse is discussed (reuse of common components within a framework architecture, generating code for specific components, using a generalized communication/distribution platform).
Keywords:
Chemical development processes, process design, cooperation functionality, tool integration.
