J. Espinosa, Stefan Brüggemann, Wolfgang Marquardt:
Application of the rectification body method to batch rectification
In: L. Puigjaner and A. Espuna (Eds.): ESCAPE-15 (European Symposium on Computer Aided Process Engineering), Barcelona, Spain, 757-762
Abstract:
This contribution focuses on the development of a dynamic conceptual model for a batch rectifier having an infinite number of stages without resorting to multistage calculations. For a given instantaneous still composition, the key feature of the method is the estimation of the instantaneous minimum reflux or the instantaneous distillate composition by using the Rectification Body Method (RBM). The usefulness of Bifurcation Analysis of pinch profiles is emphasized to model highly non-ideal behavior.
