AVT - Aachener Verfahrenstechnik
In 2007 the 5 chemical engineering institutes of RWTH Aachen listed below decided to combine as AVT (Aachener VerfahrensTechnik, which means: Aachen Chemical Engineering). The main goals were, firstly, to clearly show the historically grown, tight collaboration between the 5 institutes, and secondly, to increase synergetic effects. It was, on the other hand, very important to all 5 collaborates, not to loose the broad fundament of the scientific and academic work, which is typical for chemical engineering at RWTH Aachen.
Since its foundation, the AVT research group has been consistently growing and is counting 8 chairs and a staff of approxiomately 160 staff members.
