The reactions and process identified in the cluster of excellence “Tailor-Made Fuels from Biomass” are evaluated according to economic and energy efficiency criteria. Based on the process synthesis framework developed at AVT- Process Systems Engineering, we apply a stepwise design procedure with shortcut methods and rigorous optimization.
