Modeling the velocity field in thin liquid films
 | Type: | Study-/Bachelorthesis |
| Area: | Simulation/Modeling |
| Termin: | WS 2011/12 |
| Description: | Thin liquid films play an important role in the chemical industry. Their high surface to volume ratio makes them an ideal choice for exchanging heat and mass between a liquid and a gas phase. Despite their practical importance, a design model for predicting the transport phenomena for liquid films has yet to be developed. The main difficulty in modeling thin liquid films is the complexity of the flow fields of the liquid. In this thesis, a promising model candidate for this velocity field will be investigated. A parameter study on the properties of the liquid will be performed, and the validity range for the model will be analyzed. For this thesis, you should enjoy complex mathematical modeling problems. Other than that, no previous knowledge is necessary. |
