This year's International Membrane Science & Technology Conference (IMSTEC) in Sydney was a complete success despite forest fires and local entry restrictions. Prof. Wessling participated in the conference together with four assistants of the CVT, thus presenting a good overview of the broad spectrum of research at the CVT. There was positive feedback on all presentations and many interesting discussions.

A special success: two of the three presentation awards nominated go to CVT members!

Kristina Baitalow was awarded for her talk „A lab-scale ultrafiltration module with embedded spacers”. She presented a numerical and experimental study on geometry optimization on a lab device – which meanwhile made it into market as a commercial product! Anna Kalde received a presentation award for her talk on „Forming frestanding selective layers by wetting control during polyelectrolyte complexation“, an improved procedure for nanofiltration membrane production.
