The thesis supervised by Marcel Gausmann was part of a research collaboration between the chair for fluid process engineering and the FHNW (Muttenz, Switzerland). In her thesis Franziska demonstrated how electrochemical separation enables a more efficient and sustainable separation of bio-based lactic acid.

The Christian Wandrey Prize is awarded every two years by the friends and sponsors of the FZ Jülich society and honors excellent theses contributing to the field of industrial biotechnology.
