12th Aachen’s Conference on Water Technology was a success

The 12th Aachen’s Conference on Water Technology (12. ATW) took place with more than 400 participants on October 24-25, 2017. Scientists, engineers, plant manufacturers, representatives of (waste) water boards and of regulatory authorities meet here biannually in order to discuss technical solutions for water purification and waste water treatment.

As in the past, we were able to attract well-renowned scientists like Prof. Mark van Loosdrecht (TU Delft, the Netherlands), Aline Meier (Eawag and VSA platform “Process Technology Micropollutants“. Switzerland) und Prof. Jörg Drewes (TU München, Germany). All the speakers presented their latest technological developments and operational experiences from full-scale plants at the conference. The discusses processes including membranes, adsorption, oxidation and their combinations represent the solutions tackling current challenges of water and waste water treatment: micropollutant removal, nutrient and resource recovery, and water reuse – in order to establish efficient circular economies. A trade exhibition with leading companies of the water sector framed the conference and enabled inspiring discussion. With more than 400 registered participants from 10 nations the Aachener Tagung is the largest German-speaking, process engineering conference in the water sector.

The Aachener Verfahrenstechnik, Chair of Chemical Process Engineering (Prof. Wessling) and the Institute of Sanitary Environmental Engineering (Prof. Pinnekamp) at the RWTH Aachen University co-organized the 12th Aachen’s Conference on Water Technology. Therewith, we can now look back on a successful 20 year history of Aachener Tagung.

The 13th Aachen’s Conference on Water Technology will take place in Eurogress Aachen on October 29-30, 2019. We are looking forward to your active participation.
