On the 29th of November, a squadron of AVT scientists descended on the Aachen Marktplatz to conduct important scientific tests on the Glühwein available at this year's Christmas markets. Enlisting help from the folks at Aachener Zeitung, our scientists systematically ordered a pot of Glühwein from each of the Glühwein-serving stalls that they could find. Individual Glühwein servings were then subjected to a rigorous programme of testing in which temperature, pH, fluid volume, and sugar content was measured (to within a known uncertainty, of course). Results of the tests were fastidiously recorded and then unveiled in the Aachener Zeitung on the 6th of December.
