By means of biological systems, a variety of reactions can be performed, leading to completely new products. The economical design of these processes is an important task. The lecture will introduce aspects of the economical assessment of bioprocesses. In order to avoid optimization of wrong process parameters, solutions to the economic optimization of bioprocess will be presented. As part of the practical courses, the software tool SuperPro Designer will be applied, which has reached an international industrial standard application for economic assessments.
