Simulation Methods in Mechanical Engineering
|Lecturer:||Prof. Alexander Mitsos, Prof. Marek Behr|
|Course schedule:||Please get them from the course calendar RWTH Online|
|Lecture notes:||Available on Moodle|
This course is designed to enable students to create and solve simulations independently, by learning to pose mathematical models and to use simulation software to solve them. They will learn the basic system-classes of simulations: concentrated dynamic systems, distributed dynamic systems, discrete systems, and discrete-continous systems. Commonalities between modelling formulations from different respective disciplines are also presented in order to help students gain a deep understanding of the generality of the mathematical formulations that they use. In this process, the students will also acquire knowledge of different simulation tools.
