To tailor membrane behavior we transfer membrane systems to microfluidics. We use 3D-printing and microfluidics to form our tailored structure. This controlled environment allows us to investigate flow patterns inside membranes. Visual observation under the microscope as well as other, laser based optical techniques are used for mass transport evaluation in 2D and 3D. We then transfer the gained knowledge to real membrane systems and compare the results to microfluidic membrane behaviour. Main topics in this work will be
