UV-polymerization is a common process used in many fields (e.g., 3D printing). In addition to various already established materials (3D-printing, coatings, paints, adhesives), there are also biocompatible materials that open up completely new possibilities in the field of medicine. With the help of a digital micromirror device (DMD) different UV-sensitive materials will be tested. In this thesis, we will control the DMD and integrate it into an already existing optical system to produce first structures. Based on this the setup shall be analyzed and optimized.

Methods of this thesis include:

  • Construction and 3D-printing of parts for the DMD intergration
  • Microfluidic experiments with various UV materials

You should bring:

  • High motivation to work independently
  • Interest in handicrafts and laboratory work

This work offers you:

  • Practical work experience in the laboratory (microfluidic work, photopolymerization, membrane characterization)
  • Work on innovative research topics and comprehensive mentoring
  • Design and immediate production via 3d-printing
