CO2 that occurs in waste gas is partly responsible for climate change. One way to minimize CO2 emissions from industrial plants is CCU (Carbon Capture and Utilization). At the institute of Fluid Process Engineering, a promising process is being investigated in which formic acid is produced from CO2.

Three fluid phases are required for the reaction and it is carried out in a continuous stirred tank reactor. A reactor model in MATLAB needs to be validated using experimental literature data. In this bachelor thesis, different influencing factors on the turnover number of the reaction are also to be examined.
